That said, the same doesn't necessarily apply to all BHA toners out there. While salicylic acid is the most common BHA used in skincare, other BHA liquid exfoliants may not be safe for all skin types. According to the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel reached a tentative conclusion that the safety and suitability of products such as salicylic acid toners depends on their formulations. That’s why it’s always important to read the label of any skincare products you try.
